New Mixing Line for Cable Compounds

To meet the growing demands of the cable compound market, we have modernized our mixing technology in collaboration with the HF GROUP. The core of the project involved replacing an existing tangential mixer with a high-performance IM190E intermeshing mixer featuring state-of-the-art PES7 rotor technology, as well as upgrading parts of the material dosing and weighing system.

The goal of the project planning, which spanned over two years, was to future-proof the plant technology. Using 3D scans and a pre-engineering study, we worked with the HF GROUP to analyze the key parameters.

•    Can the new mixer be integrated into the existing, spatially constrained building structures?
•    What structural modifications are required?
•    How can the existing material dosing and weighing system be modernized effectively?

The greatest challenge, however, was the on-site implementation. All renovation and installation work had to be carried out while the adjacent production lines remained in operation. The work thus took place under the most demanding conditions, right next to ongoing production.
Thanks to careful project planning, close coordination among all parties involved, and continuous support from the HF GROUP, the project was successfully completed in August.
